Are We There Yet?

Welcome, and please forgive the lack of theming on this site, I swear that shall be remedied, and soon! This is the future location of the blog, which will document my journey into the web. My perspective is that of a software quality engineer who has been tucked away in a code-mill, where process and procedure ruled and creativity came second (or third) to navigating the treacherous red-taped waters of bureaucracy. And now I'm out. I'm free. I'm terrified. The web is a whole different ballgame. It's open, free, loose, fast. It provides infinite amounts of information in small, digestible chunks. There's a new technology or acronym to learn every day, and it's *always* essential. On this blog I will capture the path that is traveled by countless students of the web, into HTTP, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL, Java, servers, clients, social networking, blogs, wiki's, tweets, mobile browsing, netbooks and words that haven't even been invented yet. I am not an expert, but they're out there, and I'm going to find them. I'm going to find them and cajole and coax their secrets out so they can be shared with the world here. Remember, the answer to the question "Are we there yet", is always "no".
